Our partner is an established restaurant group with a diverse collection of vibrant, beloved F&B venues. We are now seeking a Head Chef specialised in Japanese cuisine to join their popular izakaya.
The Head Chef will manage the day-to-day culinary operations and the ongoing development of the group's lively izakaya, working with the Culinary Director and a team of Sous Chefs and Cooks to create and execute exciting dishes that will delight guests.
The Head Chef will:
- train and mentor the culinary team to understand and appreciate the ingredients, techniques, and flavours;
- ensure proper preparation and staffing for each service;
- execute dishes at a consistently high standard;
- manage food & labour costs whilst setting and achieving financial targets;
- foster an inspiring, positive, and productive work environment;
- work closely with the FOH team to ensure seamless, exceptional service;
- collaborate with the marketing team to promote the restaurant and showcase special events and offerings.
We seek individuals with:
- an affinity for Japanese cuisine;
- exceptional knowledge of Japanese ingredients and flavours;
- 3+ years of Sous Chef/CDC/Head Chef experience in established, reputable restaurants in major metropolitan cities (N.Y., L.A., Tokyo, London, Vancouver, etc.);
- experience working in high-volume operations (200+ covers daily);
- ability and passion for training, coaching and mentoring a diverse culinary team;
- a knack for creating exciting dishes that appeal to a wide audience;
- an innate pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement.
