Our partner is a leading hospitality group with a dynamic portfolio of distinctive concepts that tell a story about a particular time, place, and culture. As this entrepreneurial group continues to expand locally and globally, they are now seeking an exceptional, people-centric Head of Training & Development to join their team. 

This person will spearhead the groups robust training programmes, ranging from wine 101 to the nitty gritty details that create an immaculate dining experience. Additionally, this role will be the pillar of the teams’ employment experience; their go-to comrade. Working within the larger People & Culture team, this person will offer guidance and support to team members across the organisation. 

Key missions include:
  • Evaluating, creating, and executing effective training programmes that are in line with operational needs through collaborating with restaurant teams and other departments; 
  • Delivering engaging training sessions using a variety of methods, simultaneously assessing productivity and effectiveness through first-hand feedback; 
  • Overseeing the recruitment process and lifecycle for the company, from niche roles for existing and new restaurant concepts to back office positions;
  • Representing the company in various university career fairs, gaining interest in internship and management trainee programs offered by the company throughout the year; 
  • Managing regular check-ins with intern and management trainee team members during their programme, offering advice and professional development roadmaps beyond the workplace;
  • Assisting the Administrative Team with organisational logistics pertaining to short-term programmes offered in the company such as training, working holiday, or graduate visas;
  • Developing strong relationships with team members across the company, offering a nurturing yet motivational environment for them to succeed; 

We seek individuals with:
  • A clear career progression, with 5+ years experience in Training & Development, or People & Culture functions, preferably within sizeable hospitality and/or F&B brands; 
  • Experience working in frontline restaurant operations is a plus;
  • Experience leading a team, while managing competing priorities within the organisation; 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and verbal); 
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail; 
  • A strong passion for restaurants and fostering positive employment experience and lifecycle!
